Our STORY

It's about people

Room Here is a nonprofit organization focused on mental fitness and healthier minds at work.

2019 was a hard year for the tech and startup scene in Utah; some CEOs and founders struggled with mental illness and even a few died by suicide. As a way to grieve, we brought founders and CEOs from the community together to discuss mental health.

As conversations continued, we recognized that while no one has all of the answers, having a community of allies in the journey is essential.

Many people spend most of their waking hours at work; there are, however, few company leaders that have adequate plans and resources to help employees with mental health. We saw that our experiences and insights could make a difference for others.

We decided to do something big and lead a movement for a new perspective on mental health: mental fitness. Room Here envisions a world where individuals and companies embrace mental fitness for everyone and mental health challenges can be discussed openly.  Room Here wants to help people and companies find resources and build their supportive community.

What is a Room Here company?

A Room Here Company is an organization that has pledged to promote mental fitness through routinely measuring their mental health culture, making clear plans, and sharing what they learn with the community.

What is a Roomie?

A Roomie is a person who has stepped up to be a mental fitness ally! A Roomie is someone who is committed to developing habits that promote his or her own mental fitness while also being supportive to others who are on their own mental fitness journeys.
